About the Artist

Gayle René is an award-winning artist in Los Angeles, and a member of the California Art Club. She received her Bachelor Degree in Fine Art at California State University, Northridge. Gayle frequently attends Master workshops at the prestigious Scottsdale Artists’ School. Her artwork has been exhibited and sold in galleries, shops, and restaurants in Los Angeles and New York. She has a clientele and collectors throughout America, Europe, and Asia.
With an 'eye for color,' along with a naturally creative talent, Gayle has worked in the Interior Design business for many years. Also, worldwide travels to Europe, Asia, and Egypt have left beautifully vivid images in her mind, which have a great influence upon her artwork.
Gayle has a special place in her heart for animals, so with affection, this is one of her favorite subjects to paint. She volunteered at Wildlife Waystation, a sanctuary for lions, leopards, tigers, and many other animals. The Afghan Hound is the breed of dog that she has owned and cherished.
As for painting technique, Gayle prefers to express herself artistically in a passionate, impasto, painterly style capturing emotion and movement-- most often oil on linen. She has a background in Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, and Mystical Realism.
